Cutimed® Sorbion® Border

is a sterile, hydroactive, gel-forming, self-adhesive wound dressing, offering atraumatic dressing changes. The dressing consists of a strong water-retaining superabsorbent core, a wound contact layer from a hypoallergenic polypropylene, a silicone adhesive border and a breathable, waterproof backing from polyurethane which allows to shower.

Intended Purpose

Indications: Cutimed Sorbion Border is intended for the treatment of exuding wounds with moderate to excessive exudate levels suchas decubitus, ulcus cruris, diabetic foot ulcers and other wounds healing through secondary intention, oozing laparotomy wounds, fistulas to the  skin, exulcerating carcinomas, postoperative wound dehiscence and similar exuding wounds.

Cutimed Sorbion Border should be changed as often as clinically indicated, must be not fully saturated. It can remain in place for heavily exuding wounds, up to 4 days. For wounds with moderate exudation, the dressing wearing time can be extended to 7 days.

How to

1. Before applying the dressing disinfect hands and use gloves. If necessary, irrigate the wound and remove leftover cleansing solution afterwards.

2. Select a suitable dressing size, so that the dressing pad of Cutimed Sorbion Border overlaps with the wound edges at least by 1cm/0.4inch.

3. Remove release liners, do not touch the wound pad.

4. Apply the dressing towards the wound. Apply the white, unprinted side of the product facing the wound.

5. Gently press the adhesive border to the intact skin to secure the dressing.

6. Avoid stretching the dressing.

How to Remove

To remove Cutimed Sorbion Border lift one corner, gently remove the dressing and discard. Adherence of wound deposits to Cutimed Sorbion Border is a desirable effect, contributing to wound cleansing (soft debridement).
