Cutimed® Gelling Fiber

is a soft, conformable CMC dressing (sodium carboxymethylcellulose) with enhanced fibers for strengthening. It absorbs wound fluid and transforms into a soft gel, maintaining a moist environment to support the body’s healing process. It helps in the removal of non-viable tissue from the wound without damaging newly formed tissue.

Intended Purpose

Unter medical supervision, it is intended to cover moderately to highly exuding wounds and to absorb exudate. Furthermore, also dry wounds can be treated. Cutimed Gelling Fiber can be used for the local treatment of leg ulcers, pressure ulcers (stage II-IV) and diabetic ulcers, surgical wounds (e.g. post-operative, wounds left to heal by secondary intent and donor sites), partial thickness burns, exudate absorption in oncology wounds, traumatic wounds (e.g. abrasions and lacerations).

Wear time: Cutimed Gelling Fiber can be left in place for up to 7 days, except in burns and donor sites where it can be left in place up to 14 days.

Soft gel maintains a moist wound environment. It binds exudate including bacteria to the fiber and retains the majority of absorbed exudate even under compression. Exudate is absorbed vertically preventing maceration.

Autolytic debridement

Supports autolytic debridement.
